6 quarts Ripe (Roma) Tomatoes 2 large Spanish Onions 2 green bell peppers 1 red bell pepper ½ tblsp. crushed chilies 1 cup vinegar 1 cup sugar 1 tblsp. salt (check for taste) 1 tsp. allspice
Method
Blanch tomatoes in boiling water. Remove Skins.
Add 2 cups water to tomatoes and boil for about ½ hour.
Add the other ingredients. Boil for another ½ hour. It should be cooked.
Put into a blender to make it a little bit finer.
To make a meat sauce:
Use about 3 cups spaghetti sauce to 1 pound hamburger meat.
